B&HIn 1849, my great-great-grandfather R.M. Hamilton partnered with L.L. Baker to supply tools and provisions to miners and ranchers from a canvas tent in Gold Country. Soon, Baker & Hamilton began to sell hardware and their own manufactured farm tools. The label on our estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon pays tribute to the legendary B&H catalogues, pages packed with equipment illustrations. Today, we farm with variations of those same tools in my family’s Oakville vineyard.

Baker & Hamilton Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is available only through purveyors of fine wine and at select restaurants in California. Please visit our Stockists page for information about acquiring our wine, and while you’re there, be sure to sign our Guest Book.

Thank you, and let’s raise a toast to the merchants and farmers who established early California agriculture!  –Bruce Phillips

“Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon comes skipping out of the glass with bright, cheery scents of kirsch, black raspberries, red roses, and clove oil… The full-bodied palate is electric with tension and energetic red and black fruit layers, supported by fine-grained tannins…” —Lisa Perrotti-Brown

2019 Baker & Hamilton Cabernet Sauvignon

The success of Baker & Hamilton, the well-known dealers in farming implements and machines and all kinds of hardware, illustrates the truth of the saying that energy and enterprise always bring their reward.
